Naturally... I've received other questions about the webhosting and such... but PLEASE... let me assure you... that regardless of minor issues, FTF10 is doing FINE... and, well, did we not ask you for complaints to be issued? We did.

All we got was Bill, complaining about the "boxter" of our webhost. Which is fair enough, I know three or four seconds is A LONG TIME to wait.

Well... here we go, I've been touting it for some time - see if you like it.

PT: Ok, today I’ve got the pleasure of Bambi Blaze’s company… so, let’s get started.

It seems that many people are curious as to how you became involved in the BE and inflation. Perhaps you could give us an idea of how you went from humble southern lady to bra busting Internet porn star?

BB: Wow! Have I got a story to tell. First of all I had this *secret* that I kept to myself for years. It began at the age of 6 after seeing a portrait of a lovely woman at my uncle's house. This woman was topless, with simply breathtaking boobs! I remember not being able to take my eyes off of her until my uncle noticed and embarrassed me in front of other family members. After that, I started stuffing my mom's bras during nap time. I was eventually caught when I was 12 yrs old while trying to get the attention of a neighbourhood boy I had a crush on. My mom was really pissed when she saw me leaning over the hood of his car with a tight shirt covering my *overfilled* bra! LOL! I'll never forget that day.

PT: that must have taken quite some explaining...

BB: Yes, like "ummmm.... Mom my boobs need to be BIGGER cuz that's what the guys like!" Hehe really though, I was too embarrassed to say anything so I went to my bedroom, unstuffed my nicer assets and laid low for while.

BB: I'd like to comment on your humble southern lady perception...

PT: Feel free, I was just guessing.

BB: Well Prophet hon, it was a good guess and you're correct. ;-)

PT: Excellent.

BB: I kept my parents all out of sorts during my teen years. They were very strict, my dad was a cop, and we NEVER missed an opportunity to be at church! Urgh! I was very rebellious, and I've had this wild streak in me for as long as I can remember...but, unfortunately, I had to keep it under wraps because of my strict home life.

I married a very anal man at the age of 20. He's a CPA, and everything is either black or white with him. He also felt the need to do the whole chuch thing and the marriage really sucked! We had MANY fights when I'd beg him to let me get a BA. He totally refused and thought that any form of plastic surgery was ungodly and waist of his hard earned money.

PT: Not a match made in heaven then?

BB: No, it was a match made in hell!

So, a few years after we'd married one day I went to the bank and withdraw $25,000. I hired an attorney, divorced his ass, and had my first BA 3 months later. This was single-handedly the BEST thing I ever did in my life! I got out of an emotional and physically abusive marriage, and finally for the first time ever -- I began to be me!

PT: Always.

BB: The day I filed for divorce, I was the Sunday School director at our church....damn, have I come a long way or what??!!

PT: I'll tell you something funny - you said BA, I was thinking Bachelor of Arts, didn't quite click until you said you got it in three months.

BB: lol! No, I have an associates degree in Secondary English Education. By BA I meant Breast Augmentation.

PT: To be honest, it's quite hard to imagine you as anything to do with Sunday School... except maybe as a lesson in temptation.

BB: lol! yeah, there are some stories I could tell about the 'preacher' hitting on me...blah, blah, blah...they're all just a bunch of hypocrites from my experience!

PT: I think we've all had our experiences with hypocritical religious types. So, you're foot loose and fancy free. You've got yourself your first breast augmentation. What happened next?

BB: Yes! A few months after my BA I went with some friends to a fetish club...you can imagine my excitement after so many years of having to please and follow the rules of those in my life. This is when I met Dr Curvy and his wife...

We struck if off right away, and continued to stay in touch. I soon found out that I had a lot in common with these two people.

...I soon realized that having a *fetish* wasn't such a bad thing after all, there were other people just like me! Good, decent people which at times deviated from the norms instituted by mainstream society.

PT: And that was a real turning point?

BB: The real turning point was my divorce, meeting Doc and his wife was icing on the cake. :-)

PT: So, given Dr. Curvy's credentials - I'll assume that it was only a matter of time before he introduced you to the pleasures of breast expansion?

BB: Yes. The HUGE pleasures I guess would be the appropriate way of putting it.

He introduced me to the BEA. Up until this point I hadn't used the internet much except for emails and shopping. When I found the BEA forum, this *expanded* my horizons in ways I would have previously never imagined. Pun is intended! ;-) Sooo, I joined the BEA as Bambi Blimps. This was the first forum I'd ever participated on and many great things began to happen.

I had already shared with Doc that I had a belly expansion fetish too, especially in the Preggo category. One day he emailed me the link to Johnny Swells BerryGirl. OMG! I was enamored with his art, and this is when I realized my fetish was more than just boobs and belly...it was body too. I remember being so turned on by Johnny's BerryGirl comic that I was overwhelmed by the sensations I felt!

In the very first post I made at the BEA I shared that I was 'into' inflation, along with my recent BA. I don't remember getting any comments about my inflation interets, but those dear babes were all over my new G cup tits!

PT: Just what is it like being a woman interested in BE/inflation coming onto the scene and announcing you not only like BE and big tits but you have some and you want to get bigger? I mean, obviously there's the general mob of people but there's a bunch of stuff that goes on that isn't in the forum.

BB: IT was a relief! I mean discovering there were so may other people that loved this and accepted BIGGER boobs, expansion, etc... was overwhelming. I guess I had felt shamed for so long because of my ex's reactions to my wanting to go bigger, I was simply stunned when I realized there are a vast number of folks into this too.

I'll never forget seeing the first pics of Minka, Keisha, Pandora, and some of the other big boob implanted girls... it never occurred to me that girls actually took this expansion this far! This is when I fell in love with the thought of really HUGE implants.

PT: Surely it can't have been ALL positive?

BB: In what way do you mean?

PT: The BEA doesn't lack its share of trouble makers and obsessives. I'm sure your experience was mostly positive but it can't all have been smooth sailing, is what I'm getting at.

BB: Yes, true enough. There was one negative situation that completely got out of control. I think it left a bad taste for a LOT of people. All the rumors, nastiness being spread to other forums, etc... Thankfully, it's a thing of the past.

PT: There are always some people who have to spoil it for everyone.

BB: I suppose this is the one thing about internet life that bugs me, and of course, we encounter it in real life too. As you said, things happen *behind the scenes* that everyone isn't privy too...so rumors, judgment calls, and misperceptions are easy to make, but often times aren't true and/or fair.

PT: Oh, I think that the transformation community has a pretty huge rumour mill when the right kind of thing happens and the only thing you can ever be sure of is that you're not getting both sides of the story.

BB: LOL! I know there's some folks that don't like me... I lurk and read from time to time. Funny thing is, most of these hand full of people that do the *Bambi Bashing* have never even spoken to me... I guess it's all related to others perceptions that can be formed whether they're right or wrong.

Yes, the rumor mill can be HUGE at times...maybe it just goes along with our fetish for making things bigger. :-)

When I purchased the now Expansion Mansion website, I read that someone referred to me as a "corporation" taking over the community! OMG!! I laughed so hard when I read that...it's just so not the case at all. ;-)

PT: So, we can quell rumors of your eminent domination of the expansion corner of the pornosphere?

BB: Rumors can be quelled for sure. I just take things as they come. I believe in karma and when good is given, good will be returned.

PT: Speaking of the expansion mansion - just how did you make that leap from consuming to providing content?

BB: I mean, back in January, 2004 when I registered at the BEA. I was just a girl, not a web model, no internet business, etc... I wasn't even thinking along these lines it just really fell in my lap. Things have grown from there pretty much the same way too.

PT: So, it was just serendipity that led to the Expansion Mansion?

BB: Well, I was providing content with bambiblaze.com before the EM came about... Yes, pretty much. Forming relationships, being at the right place at the right time. That sort of thing.

PT: People probably would be surprised how much of the internet is just dumb luck... but what exactly was your inspiration to start your own website?

BB: Yes, they probably would. LOL! Believe it or not, BoobRepli inspired me when he contacted me via PM and offered to make me a website. I said..."uhhh...OK, I guess, not sure though that I'll be any good at it. But we can give it a go, and see what happens."

As I said, this is something I didn't "seek", it just happened and it's the MOST fun I've ever had! I sincerely love our community and I feel privileged being part of it.

PT: And that's why you're dedicating so much of your time to various inflation videos and of course, the quest for ever larger breasts?

BB: Yes, all the above. I'm also a general contractor in real life. Or better said, mainstream life. My fetish play is part of my real life too.

PT: Do your breasts ever become an obstacle in that?

Or perhaps to phrase it more openly - do you find that your breasts ever cause problems in "real life"?

BB: No, not with being self-employed. Just the occasional stares and whispers when I'm dealing with contractors face to face. I'm a ballsy gal though, and they know I won't put up with any shit...there's always another guy or team for laying blocks, roofing, etc...

Keep in mind I do live in the damn bible belt. So, even if I'm out bar hopping, etc... there's always gonna be someone talking or looking. I don't care though, because I know who I am and what I'm all about. Only I can walk in my shoes. :-)

PT: Good point... as we're on the sizeable topic of your bosom. Perhaps you can grace us with your vital statistics and maybe how many augmentations you've had... and your future plans.

BB: I'm 42-27-36. I've had one augmentation.. currently 800 cc saline implants. My next augmentation is in the works now :-) but that's pretty much off topic until the good deed is done. I've decided to manage it this way because I don't want all the drama leading up to my next enhancement. Not because I don't want to share, but one never knows what immediate plans can fall through based on unforeseen circumstances.

PT: I can't say I blame you, it seems pretty hard to nail down specifics when going for the more extreme sizes and I'm sure it's for the best that there is no drama. Perhaps you can give us an idea of your dream size though?

BB: Yes, I think so. There's obstacles to be endured getting there. :-) Currently, my plan is to obtain 3000cc's, but that's not etched in stone either. ;-)

PT: I guess you'll have to find some bigger balloons to use if you manage to get those implants.

BB: LOL! No kidding. Thankfully, I've secured a very good prop designer.

PT: It has to be said, you do a very impressive job with the balloons.

BB: Thank you very much! There's been a LOT of trials and errors, but we constantly look for ways to make improvements.

PT: Hahaha, I think there are more than a few people who'd like to know the secret behind the patented Bambi Blaze balloons.

BB: LOL! Yes, yes I know.....but dammit baby it's a secret. Shhhh.... ;-)

PT: So how about the expansion mansion - I know you've got a bunch of stuff going on there at the moment.

BB: OMG!! I love that website and the great community of people there. Let me say, I have a wonderful staff all the way around. I was very fortunate a year ago securing sheber as my webmaster... he has made a TERRIFIC difference on the backend AND as a positive presence on the EM forum.

Angelus, Litch, and Cheviot are the administrators....they're simply beautiful people who have also shown me kindness and friendship. I've felt fortunate at times having them as good, solid sounding boards.

My moderators, are goatboy, thefatman, mad::matt, VincentJ, Martin, and AirWolf. They also do a terrific job managing a forum the size of the EM.

As you know, we've recently opened a new EM forum and revamped it to included all areas of inflation. My goal is to offer a place for all inflation/expansion genres. I don't believe anyone should be left out...guess I sound like George Bush now! LOL! The "no one left behind" theme

PT: Everyone should have their little corner of the web but recently you took what seemed like a bit of a side swipe at the BEA... do you think that it has lost its way?

BB: LOL! I don't recall mentioning any specific website or forum. ;-)

I believe the BEA is a great community, one that has certainly been good to me. If anything, I think the BEA has found it's way with a group of people enjoying their particular interests.

As we all know, things at times evolve in life so most likely the BEA is where the owner wants it to be or perhaps where his fan base has led it. :-)

PT: Outside of work and wowing your fans - what does the real Bambi Blaze like to do to enjoy herself?

B: I'm an action/thriller/horror movieholic, I enjoy riding and grooming my horses, and most importantly spending time with my loved ones.

PT: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

B: Hopefully, just as healthy and happy as I am now with more wonderful memories made and shared with my family, close friends, and fans.

Anyway, here is the interview you may well have been waiting for - self-proclaimed Addventure Mega Geek Adama speaks of life, love and the Addventure.

PT: Adama - hello.

A: Howdy doo.

PT: Let's start at the beginning, shall we - how'd you get into the BE community?

A: I used to write little BE short-shorts for myself (pretty bad ones) back in the 80s... then I got connected to the Internet for the first time in the early 90s, and discovered alt.sex.stories found some of the early download sites (like Acotto), hung out at the Wren Spot while it was going, then found the BEA shortly after it started. But I was a lurker only, until I started writing for the Addventure.

PT: So, were you on the addventure from its inception in mid 1998.

A: Yes, I started reading it right after MarkT posted it, end of June 1998. I liked the Addventure because it was a good place for the kind of writer I am - someone who is best at writing scenes, but can't manage to create a plot all the way through to the end of the story. Fall of 1998 I also started keeping my own Index of the Addventure episodes but gave up on that after a few months.

PT: How come?

A: It was all manual effort (no software assistance) and I was falling farther and farther behind. I started the Index because I like keeping track of lists... I used to be interested in the old Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books which were very similar to the Addventure. I used to make charts of all the different possible story paths

PT: so how did you make the leap from interested fan to the lord and master of the Addventure.

A: In 2000 I persuaded MarkT to give me my own area on the Addventure server where I could post and maintain the Index without any need for him to spend time on it. (He'd been reluctant to let the Index exist until he found out I was willing to maintain it myself rather than make him post it).

Over the next couple of years I became more familiar with the Addventure source code, and its file system, and would make suggestions to MarkT of where bugs needed fixing, or where corrupt files needed to be cleaned up. MarkT never really had much time by then to do software changes, however. So in 2004, when we were being moved to a new server, I asked if I could have admin access so that I could fix software bugs myself. By then I guess MarkT had gotten to know me somewhat, and thought I could be trusted. So he gave me access.

So now I keep an eye out for bugs or corruptions (or broken programs) and fix them as they occur. It's a lot less frustrating than before, when I knew what needed to be fixed but couldn't do it. ;) Eventually that included the purging of episodes that broke the posting rules.

PT: And MarkT just faded away?

A: I last talked to him some months back. He indicated it had been quite a while since he'd last looked in on the place. MarkT's been limited the last several years by the amount of time he's had to spend on work and other things. I can sympathize with him these days now that I too am forced to spend some time working in the evenings and on weekends. That's why I haven't had time to work on Addventure enhancements or certain parts of the Index lately.

PT: Any amusing anecdotes from your eight years on the Addventure?

A: I tried to think of some, but none come to mind. The funniest stuff has been what occurs inside the Addventure itself. The story of Addventure Admin is mostly one of fixing problems and updating Indexes...

[cue maudlin violin]

PT: You've just said you don't have much time but is there anything exciting in the Addventure's future as far as new features go?

Adama: One thing people have asked for repeatedly is the ability to comment on episodes. I do worry about creating brand new possibilities for flame wars, but I could keep an eye on it. I've got a few ideas about implementing such a feature, but haven't had much time to work on it. Some other ideas for new features (such as the ability to add options to existing episodes) I'm not so sure about - I like the idea, but others seem to dislike it. Possibly because they feel it would ruin continuity.

PT: On other Addventures, it does seem to just encourage leeches to try and get content without participation.

A: Well the Addventure has its own brand of that, with people who post list-only episodes.

PT: That's true. Do you ever feel like taking a more heavy handed approach to the enforcement of rules?

A: The rules are pretty loose as it is. It's tempting sometimes to delete episodes which technically fall within the rules, but are obviously there for the purpose of being obnoxious. And sometimes I give in to temptation. A couple of times I've considered banning certain people, but decided that it was better not to. I agree with MarkT's original intention of keeping this place as open as possible.

PT: Undoubtedly it's the Addventure's single greatest strength and its biggest weakness.

A: The other way to become more heavy handed would be to try to moderate for content but who has time for that?

PT: You could always have a squad of deputies.

A: I just don't think moderation is the way to go - as I've said elsewhere, it would at the very least kill the popularity. Yeah, the Addventure attracts a lot of garbage - but a lot of good stuff too.

Right now I think we're the most prolific (in terms of episode creations per day) game of this type out there -- at least of the ones I'm familiar with. 8 years is a long time. 120,000 written episodes so far.

PT: Some might argue that quality is better than quantity...

A: Yeah.

PT: But the enduring popularity of the Addventure is certainly impressive.

Any people you'd like to thank for their help/support/tender love and affection over the years?

A: First I'd like to acknowledge some history in case anyone was unaware of it. The original Addventure software was written by Allen Firstenberg for http://www.addventure.com, in 1995 MarkT took a copy of that, and made extensive additions and changes to it to create the BEA's Addventure. So both of them should be thanked for that. I made some additions, as did another programmer named Dmuk, but theirs was the bulk of the work.

I want to thank people who've helped out with Index contributions, including RaoulDuke, Dabbler, Scriptfox, JH, and FlySpek1947. They addressed areas I've not had time to cover. And thanks to everyone over the years who've notified me about Addventure problems (including junk episodes) that I hadn't been aware of yet. Lastly thanks to everyone who's made suggestions for enhancements to the Addventure - even if I haven't always agreed with them...

PT: Thanks to you Adama, for your tireless efforts to make the Addventure a better place to live.

Prophet Tenebrae: Today we’ve got ErikZ aka Mr. HHH with us of The Overflowing Bra/Forum fame. So, Erik - since you started it, The Overflowing Bra has become THE site for BE stories. Why'd you start it up?

ErikZ: At the time I decided to do it, there was only one site for BE stories. And it was run by MarkT at the BEA. People would send in their work, and he would format them and post. Well, over time, the updates were coming later and later. 6 months would pass with no new stories being posted and everyone was complaining.

PT: Yeah, I remember the bad old days...

E: I was on IRC talking to someone who was very negative, always complaining. That really bugged me. This time he was talking about the lack of stories and I found myself agreeing with everything he said. At that point I realized that if I just sat back and bitched about it, I'd end up like him. So I bought a book on PHP, sketched out the design of the site (3 whole pages) and made it.

PT: That negative person wasn't me was it?

E: Nah. :-)

PT: Heh, just checking. So you started up TOB to make up for MarkT's disappearance from the scene. I think we're all pretty glad you did.

E: I like the way it all turned out. The site has been continuously improving since I made it.

PT: Oh, certainly. I think it's definitely improved from its original functionality. Is there anything else we can expect from TOB?

E: Normally I try to do something special every year. This year when I was asking around for ideas, It was unanimous: Update the look of the site. It really hasn't changed much in the 5 years its been running. I changed the color of the library pages and made the font on the front page a bit more 3d-ish. So I'm re-writing all the pages to a more modern CSS and changing the look. The forum should get an update within the month or two also.

PT: What do you think of the notion that TOB is something of a refuge for people who aren't comfortable or wanted at the BEA?

E: You mean the forum? Well it works out that way. Mostly it was meant for the writers to hang out at. But there are so many other little projects floating around that it's collected all types of people. Plus, I run it with a less authoritarian attitude, Makes it more homey.

PT: That's true enough. The atmosphere of the BEA and TOF is certainly different. How about the TOB cover girl - how did that tradition get started?

E: I like pictures of women with vast bosoms. :-) Originally when I was designing the site, it had to fit into the cheapest hosting account I could find. So I had to cut down on the graphics and junk. I figured I'd have one good picture on the front to make up for it. I think GammaRai was the first artist actually... After a few months I'd get tired of looking at the picture and scrounge around for something new. If I was lucky, I'd beg a fresh picture off an artist. Once I got the banners up and some money coming in, I was able to make things really nice. Now I aim for a new non-anime picture every month and paying a BE artist to do it. I found this amusing... It seems that many people didn't realize you could click on the picture to get a larger picture. I would crop the hell out of the covergirl and it didn't even cross some people's minds that they should click on it. Of course, some people just skip the front page and go right to the "Last 10" page every time.

PT: Of course, TOB isn't just the stories and covergirl. You've got the forum - which we've already mentioned. So tell us a little bit about the other things you've got going on.

E: LOL. Well, there's the Wiki. It's supposed to be a resource for all the BE people. If there's a photoshop technique you keep on explaining to people, you can put it up on the page and point people at it. Goes for any kind of information you think would be valuable. I'm going to have to schedule some time in the future where I can just sit down and work on adding stuff to it. We just had a whole section on plastic surgery added.

The other thing is the MUSH

PT: Let's not forget the essential BE story page on Wiki, Erik… tell us a bit about the MUSH.

E: The MUSH came about when I was hanging out in IRC, bored out of my mind. Unless you get there at the right time, what you'll usually find is a room full of people who aren't at their keyboards.

PT: I think it goes without saying that the BE Loft has been in a state of decline for some time...

E: I'd say the Loft has been in a steady state.

PT: Dead IS a pretty steady state.

E: LOL! I remembered playing with text-based virtual realities in college. Even if there was nobody on, you could sit down and create things. if there's someone on and nothing to talk about, you could add a game. And then there's role-playing, which the MUSH excels at like nothing else.

So I went ahead and found the software and installed it. I didn't realize what I had gotten myself into. When you create a MUSH from a blank slate, you're in a room. There's nothing else. So after a few weeks I managed to snag myself some good programmers to help build it up.

E: Now it's this huge sprawling complex. I've turned the whole thing over to the programmers who have already spent so much time working on it. TOB is primarily the sponsor now.

PT: Just how popular is the MUSH?

E: It's hard to tell. Most MUSHes are games and can have quite a few people playing. If you were to compare it to the IRC channel, I'd say it's more popular. With around 10 active people connected and active during it's peak times. Every once in a while they hold group events too.

PT: Oh, I'm sure I've regularly seen mid teens everytime I'll looked in.

E: I try to be conservative with my estimate. I hate it when someone shows up at an odd hour and wonders where all the people are.

PT: I think a lot of people are somewhat intimidate by the MUSH... in that it seems a little complicated to an outsider. Can you assuage the worries of the noobs?

E: I think the problem is that people have gotten used to more graphic environments like you see with MMORPGs. When you're dealing with all text, you'll have to sit down, read and think. I made a cheat sheet to help people out, but it still takes practice.

PT: I think the success of Second Life has shown that sex online is getting beyond just text.

E: Well, the problem with Second Life is that you have to be a programmer if you want to do anything interesting with it. Otherwise you're stuck with everyone else's macros and creations. A programmer and an artist.

PT: True enough.

E: You can get far more dramatic effects with a MUSH, and it's easy to play along with someone else.

PT: I think the MUSH is something someone has to stick with to get something out of. Not quite a source of instant gratification but then, not much harder to operate than IRC at a simple user level.

E: To learn the basic commands of talking and moving around shouldn't take you longer than a minute to learn.

PT: That's probably true but I think some people are intimidated by having to download new software but let's move on. Perhaps the apex of your story fostering is the TOB story contest.

E: Really?

PT: I'd say so. How'd the story contest get going?

E: Cool. "Apex" just sounds impressive. I was thinking that having a contest would be a great way to get some to sit down and really polish up their work. Also, I figure there are a lot of adult fiction writers out there that could write BE stories, but have no interest in doing so. But they might be lured with a prize! The problem was, I didn't have anything to use as a prize. After the banners went up, I had enough income to create cash prizes.

This year is really only the second year we've been doing it. I have no problems doing this every year though!

PT: I think it certainly serves as an incentive. I take it from your reaction that you are happy with the response?

E: I'm mixed. I love having the contest and rewarding the authors, but after I announce it, people stop submitting their stories to the library and work on their contest entries.

PT: I think that's somewhat inevitable. Why do for free, something for which you can get paid, eh?

E: Some of the authors don't seem to mind either way, but I can see where most would rather have money. :-)

PT: I suppose the question on potential authors' minds - where can they find out about the rules and rewards for this contest?

PT: How about some tips for the potential entrants? What makes a good story in your mind?

E: For a good BE story, conflict is key. It grabs the reader's attention and makes the story easy to plot out.

PT: And the growth?

E: If you find yourself wondering how little growth you can get away with and technically call it a BE story, then you probably won't win. Same thing with bundling BE with other types of transformations. All the standard ways of keeping a readers interest also work when you add BE to the story. Oh, and learn your bra sizes if you're going to use them.

PT: I don't think anyone really knows how bra sizes work... mainly because that would imply there was some kind of logic behind them.

E: I think women would avoid the logical bra. Sounds pointy or cubic.

PT: Some boobs are pointy. Just look at the 50s.

How about the ladies… have you ever told a girl you were dating about your love of BE and if so, how’d she react?

E: Not really. They already don't react well to very busty girls on the desktop. Plus, I don't get a whole lot of GFs. I need to get out more.

PT: On a related note… Are you worried about people in real life finding out that you run a porn site?

E: Sort of. The vast majority of people don't have the skill, time or reason to try and figure that out. However, I won't be running for public office in my lifetime because of that.

PT: Were you planning on running for public office?

E: It was either that or taking control by force. All I need are enough minions.

PT: Any hilarious stories about TOF to tell?

E: This one time, at band camp... I suppose the one time someone tried to upload a windows hacking script was mildly amusing. I suppose it's a lot like a library in real life. Not a lot of adventure happens there either.

PT: In closing - anything you'd like to add Erik? Any shout outs, pillars of the community or general helpers out that you'd care to mention?

E: Geez. There are too many people. Everyone who pitches in and helps or writes or creates. Those are the people that make the site live!

I suppose it's worth mentioning - in passing - that if you want a film that spends 90 minutes gving you little more than scantily clad women fighting and islands exploding for no reason you should watch the new DOA film... Here we go with the interview - it was done before the forum was resurrected so, forgive the reference to The Process in the past tense:

Prophet Tenebrae: Lorekeep, The Process was around - in one form or another for ten years. I've been with the community a long time and I struggle to recall its exact origins... perhaps you can give us a brief walk through of the origin of the site, and it's history.

Lorekeep: The site started with a simple desire to put on the web my interests since there was no specific site that catered to the process of transformation. The name was always apparent to me, and it certainly has that "Snakes on a Plane" quality to it. I was a pretty dumb kid back then though, and certainly had looser morals, as I posted other people's work without regard to things like copyright and permissions.

That eventually changed and I try to be strict on what I post, making sure I give credit where it is due. Eventually the site got a little fancier and I tried to do some more trickier HTML, but then I hit college and eventually it became a tradeoff between life and the online life. That persists even to this day! I never advanced very far with web code.

Back when Transfur was hosting websites, I hooked up with them and hung on to that space for quite some time. After Transfur liquidated its web space, I was homeless for awhile before hooking up with Blar of GTS-Depot. I eventually paid for some expensive forum software since I was all about the "I wish I could upload files to a forum" that had been missing from previous Process forums. That brings us to today.

PT: Naturally, I have to ask about the recent occurrences at The Process -
what precipitated its sudden demise?

LK: My forum had been down for weeks, which I think has become more critical than the website itself since a community had drawn around it. The fact the forum updates far more than I did was also huge to me. My server admin was nowhere to be found for quite some time. This had happened several times before and I had pretty much had it.

I wouldn't call it "demise" though. In the 24 hours that the site's been down, I've seen some pretty impressive things happened that sort of renewed my faith in what I was doing.

UPDATE: After another day or two, the admin showed back up, and we had a long talk. Things were cleared up and he expressed a strong desire to keep me aboard. So, I left the website down, brought the forums back (which I know caused a collective cheer amongst everyone and you), and the server is going to get an upgrade to fix all the forum issues people have been having.

PT: How do you think the Process existed in relation to other sites in the community? Did you consider it a community hub?

LK: I think until the forum came along with its upload capability, I couldn't really define what the community aspect of the site was. I felt like I was a satellite to all the purist sites that catered specifically to one interest. I'm an outcast even in the fetishes I love the most!

If the forum kept going, I would certainly call that forum a community hub and home to many. That was something I wanted to be: Unique. We had our own celebrities, our own running gags, and all of it with a Smile.

PT: The Process forums was very popular - what would you attribute that success to?

LK: Being able to upload files! Seriously, it's night and day. If people can post their work on there without hassle or going through other services, then that's huge. The funny shit was people would still do that to be generous and try to save me bandwidth. Probably smart given that every evening the forum got so many hits it'd be temporarily unavailable.

PT: You didn't seem to participate a great deal in the forums on your own site, why is that?

LK: I'm a voyeur. I like to pipe up when someone contributes something particularly great or notable, but I've never been about engaging in lengthy online discussions or being a forum person. There's always that fear I'll say something that will aggravate your average internet fucktard (like that), and I've had my fair share of it when interacting with people before. So I let my actions speak a bit louder.

PT: Tell us a little about Lorekeep the person - how'd you get started in the scene?

LK: Fascination with magic, imagination and fantasy as a kid mixed with puberty's "I must fuck everything." produced a love of change!

PT: Perhaps give us an insight into the depravities of Lorekeep?

LK: I'm finding humiliation and other aspects related to the psychological part of the change to become more important to me. Nothing takes a good picture and makes it great like embarrassment or some mind-game that's being played.

I can't seem to commission anything without Japanese girls or platforms involved in some fashion. With all this fantasy a man has got to have something achievable and that would be it. It's like eating french fries without ketchup: Sure, the fries are great, but man, ketchup would make it better.

PT: Looking back over your 10 years of The Process - what kind of feelings do you have and what do you think you learned?

LK: I feel that I've provided something unique and I'm proud of that, and only wish that life were fair and that I could be both respected in life for my contributions there and not have to think that all of this could come back to bite me in the ass should I ever be successful.

As far as what I learned, I've learned just how lazy I can be! But also that each of us has another half that shouldn't make someone else think less of you.

PT: Any people that you would care to single out for outstanding services to The Process or any plugs that you'd like to give?

LK: Sutibaru's been great. The guy's a friggin' monster for content donations, and really is the type of person I should be.

Miranda Leigh is also very great, and I'm glad my constant pickiness with regards to platforms has improved how she draws shoes! I feel like I've helped her along in her online career from my forum.

People like Kricket, Memopad, Jollyjack, Wolfman, Case Scenario and other contributing artists to the forum were all great and I thank them for taking the time to share their works with everyone in the community. These are the people that make me want to keep going knowing they are around.

Anyone else I haven't mentioned ... you're all great!

Running the site for so long has convinced me that no matter how small a person, they can have a big influence.

PT: If and when The Process returns, do you have any idea in which kind of
direction you're going to take the site?

LK: The forum will work. It will not go down. I want to have a reliable forum more than anything else. As far as the main website, I am probably going to get involved with some other people and setup a type of easily updatable system that would allow me to enter a file name, add a comment and upload it. I think traditional website design is dead, and that's where my site was, being updated in Microsoft Word after I forgot how to make good HTML. It took many hours to do a high-quality update, and that was a huge deterrent for me.

I want all original content too. That's the hardest, because it's expensive to give so much of yourself to your passion with little return. But if you're going to go back, I want you to think "this is shit hot!" I'm all about the presentation.

Seriously folks, you want to draw for The Process? The offer's always been there, just not many have come forward. I'm also finding money is just not enough of a motivator for most.

Maybe a little less shrinking though. That's my primary fetish and too often my commission work would feature it.

PT: Thanks for your time Lorekeep, I hope The Process isn’t away too long.

Friends, Romans, countrymen - I come not to praise The Process but to bury it... well, actually it was pretty great but anyway.

It would be remiss to not mention the loss of what was probably the beating heart of the TF community and indeed, a substantial part of several other fetishes. While Lorekeep has not written off the chances of his (and the site's) return, it seems that for the foreseeable future The Process is down.

Perhaps fortuitiously in conjunction with the dreamy Mr. HHH from TOF, there may well be something similar in the weeks to come. Anyone that wants to help with coding or such can get in contact with me by the usual channels.

PT: I suppose the question that has to come first... how did you happen upon the small part of the 'net that is BE and TF?

M: To be honest when I started out I had no idea TF existed as a genre. It had to be sorta explained in detail. That’s true of a lot of stuff I've done online. At the very bottom of it there’s some rather enthusiastic individual pushing for it at some time....

My Vore stuff which I had a pretty good run with was definitely the work of a certain 'Frostbyte' of the old stuffedonline.com

PT: So, you're more a hero for hire than an amateur turned pro?

M: Well, if I do something and I get a good response I do more.... I'm just talking about that initial... initialisation of the process

PT: Ah, yet another message to the silent majority to actually get off their leeching backsides and tell people that they like work then?

M: Heh... well I’m not sure about that. The surprising thing about the TF work I’ve done is how good a response I’ve gotten with it. for what is certainly not a very widespread sorta genre.

PT: The TF community is probably relatively small as fetish communities go but it can boast some very dedicated fans.

M: From the very beginning it was like BOOM - 'wow, they like this stuff ^^. As opposed to say my more mainstream furry work that I’ve continued mainly outta stubbornness.

PT: So, you'd say that your driving force is praise?

M: well, sort of.... praise as expressed in people subscribing to my lil subscription stuffs ^^ I've found people are much more willing to express themselves that way then like speaking publicly on the subject. http://mamabliss.com/ is the best starting point for people unfamiliar with my work.

PT: you've probably met more than your fair share of negative reactions in the community. what do you have to say to your critics?

M: Hmm... I'm not sure about that, there was some initial scepticism about the 'paysite' thing...

PT: I think all paysites meet with initial distaste... mainly because people don't like paying for what they're used to getting free.

M: ...but once i'd done it for a while an people realised I was still posting stuff publicly I think people got used to the idea

Well, most of the people who 'read' my stuff get it for free or subscribe once or so to read all the old stuff system seems to work ok.

PT: Actually, the critics I'm thinking of are those of your quite distinctive artistic style.

M: Ahh... the 'I can’t tell what’s going on in these pictures' response.

PT: Exactly.

M: I don’t really understand that... from my viewpoint I'm just drawing stuff... and as long as some people appreciate it that’s what matters.... I'm better off focussing on them then trying to change my style.

PT: I'd say your style was esoteric but not incomprehensible... and I think for every artist there will be a dozen people who will go on about how they hate that artist... so it's admirable that you don't let it get you down.

M: Yep, it seems more important to keep up a good flow of art than anything else....

PT: Any upcoming projects you'd like to tell us about?

M: I've been out of commission for the past week or so but I'm gonna be trying out a slightly different format when i start up again. I haven’t been entirely happy with how my stuff has been going. Gonna be trying it more as an art blog posting a mix of sketches and art and comics onna semi daily basis. Sort of an 'art feed'. RSS is cool^^

I think my work may have been suffering lately from my not 'seeing what it looks like on the page' as it were... Since I've been uploading stuff and having it update automatically.

PT: It takes everyone a little while to get used to new technology.

Finally, any long time patrons, fans or supporters that you'd care to pay tribute to?

M: Well, I'd like to thank the TF an BE fans in general for their support. Heh, good job on the fan-age. I'm still here an drawing stuff

How was that? Good, bad? Do feel free to send in suggestions for potential interviewees and questions for them... now, here's my review of Mamabliss' sites...

Biggerbiggerbigger.com and Goneallwild.com are the BE and TF sites of artist Mamabliss and the ones that I’ll be reviewing as they’re the two active and pertinent sites running from the portal site http://mamabliss.com/. Beyond content, they’re both practically identical in layout and format.

There’s a lot to be said for the simplicity of design. No long load times for frivolous graphics, no struggling to find things. It’s all just in the archives (which are the pay area of the site) and between the two sites, there is certainly a lot of stuff there and a great variety.

Naturally, artistic preferences will vary from person to person but I think that Mamabliss is probably something that everyone could learn to like. The only real issue I have with the art is that occasionally, some of the text isn’t entirely legible. That’s not really a problem very often though and the dialogue isn’t generally of VITAL importance.

Perhaps the most relevant thing to say here is this. While many sites will try and diminish your appetite with page after page of filler, Mambliss really only deals with main course. It’s really just sequence after sequence after sequence. Fastidious fellow that I am, I set about going through as much of the material as I could and there is a LOT of it and naturally, as we’re all fans of the process itself that’s our bread and butter.

That, coupled with the fact that there is a great deal of variety in the subject matter and execution makes the sites worth checking out at least once – there’s a lot to see and any fan would do well to tap this large resource of material.

The only issue I had with the site was that occasionally the links were broken but that was only a couple of pages out of literally hundreds... Other than that the simplicity of the site is a big plus and the art is plentiful, imaginative, peppered with humour a good mix of straight growth/BE/TF and of course, more hardcore stuff for you people that like it. And of course everything from lactation to superheroines to FMG werewolves and Amazonic huge boobed women with men at their mercy. Great stuff.

Item Forty: Purely because I want forty items, addventure thread for you all here is a tale of naked super powers and... shrinking.

So here we go... an interview with Kris Overstreet...

Prophet Tenebrae: So, Kris - you're the lord and master of WLP... I suppose the obvious question is, what made you start White Lightning Comics?

Kris Overstreet: Many years ago, I was hired by Antarctic Press as a warehouse manager and general gofer. The first few months I worked there were quite fun, but then the focus of the company changed from making fun comics to making a profit, regardless of the product or the enjoyment of the creators. In 1996 I was downsized from my salaried job, and I decided to work towards starting my own publishing company based on the premise of producing cool comics first, profit firmly *second*.

PT: I'm not sure everyone will have followed the fortunes of WLP in the decade or so since you started working on it. Perhaps you can give us the highs and lows?

KO: Well, as a general rule, profits have remained second, all right... in fact, most of the time there haven't been profits. After starting in a small way with reselling comics and printing fanzines and art portfolios, WLP began publishing in late 1998 with The Magnificent Milkmaid #1. From 1998 to August 2000 we enjoyed steady growth, but with the dot-com bust came a great drying up of free spending which hurt our main profit source - convention appearances. From then on WLP has struggled to break even, and the past two to three years we've remained active almost entirely due to the charity of a few of our fans.

PT: Any of whom you'd care to lavish praise on?

KO: Well, one Wayne Garmil in particular financed the printing of Bootleg #13, and by extension all subsequent issues - without him we'd already be out of comic publishing. But most of my praise I'd lavish instead on the WLP artists who have been VERY patient as regards payment of royalties- since most of our current projects aren't bringing in much money at all. Particularly BAR-1 (Ben Rodriguez) and DarkZel (Zel Harris), who do a lot of work essentially free, and Larry Mann and EvHor as well.

PT: That's a long list, certainly but it seems that in recent years and months you've moved away from the printing presses and more toward the webcomics. What's behind the move?

KO: Unfortunately, yes. It's not entirely by choice. The simple fact is that the old style comic magazine format - the saddle-stapled pamphlet everyone remembers from childhood - is dying out fast, and sales with it. When we finally got an artist for Milkmaid #2, sales dropped WAY below break-even. Even our flagship anthology, Bootleg, had to have its print run cut with issue #15 to remain at break-even... break-even for print costs only, never mind royalty payments to artists.

PT: Well, I think the Internet has fundamentally changed the way people consume material... and it's not looking so good for the printed word... do you think WLP will be able to survive in the new climate?

KO: At present the strategy is to provide web comics free, and then subsidize their creation through the sales of T-shirts, comics, graphic novels eventually, posters, and other merchandise.

PT: So, you're still very much reliant upon readers to do more than leisurely read the comics and assume they'll just keep on coming?

KO: Slow down, I haven't answered the last question yet. But yes, that's exactly the problem. PayPal blacklisted WLP in 2004 - I can never get a PayPal account again so long as I should live. YowCow, the service we went with next, went belly-up in 2005. All other electronic payment services, including most credit card processing services, have a strict no-adult-materials policy, which makes it very difficult for supporters to donate cash to us... What's worse, past cash crunches caused a lot of mail orders to be BADLY late. We lost a lot of customers through that, and now our mail orders are a trickle at best. We need to get people to donate AND purchase stuff, and we need to get that stuff to them in a timely manner, if WLP is going to recover and survive.

PT: OK, let's concentrate a little on the actual creative process. You’re currently writing…

KO: I write The Magnificent Milkmaid and I – script - Chocolate Milkmaid, but the story ideas for the latter come from Lawrence Mann. I also write Peter is the Wolf and The Misadventures of Chichi-chan. I also, on occasion, do commissioned writing, when I can find time and energy for it.

PT: got a webpage for people that might like to commission you?

KO: My current commission rate for fiction is on the front page of my fairly outdated personal site, http://www.wlpcomics.com/redneck/

PT: Still, that’s 4 comics to write/script a week – that must be quite a challenge.

KO: I don't do them one page at a time - it's more like, "Let's see how far I can get with Milkmaid, there's ten pages, tomorrow I'll come up with some gags for Chichi-chan..."

PT: That makes sense... I'm sure it would be a strange writer who just spat out one page at a time.

KO: One – comic - page, yes. A comic page averages, oh, about 300 words, with panel descriptions and dialog. When I have nothing else to do and can devote my full attention to it- which isn't often- I can produce about 3,000 words of original work in a day. That doesn't sound like much until you try to think of new stuff to write about, without any notes or guidelines to help you.

PT: 3,000 words a day for a month will get you a novel, so it's a pretty commendable achievement but more than that, it must be fairly gratifying to see so many of your typed words to be turned into comics.

KO: Yes - well, technically it will get you into novel length. I wrote over 50,000 words of a sci-fi novel in April - I really need to get back on that project - and although that's minimum novel length, it's at best only half through the first draft.

Seeing my creations in comic form is usually a wonderful experience, especially the first few pages of a new project. Of course, sometimes the artist and I don't have compatible visions, which can make it quite frustrating. I'm especially happy with Peter is the Wolf, which is a true collaboration with artist BAR-1, who does a good bit of rewriting dialog and adding little jokes of his own in the creative process. It's fun to see what he comes up with.

PT: I know it's a question most creators dread - but who is your favourite character and why?

KO: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I'd have to go with Beth Dorman aka Milkmaid. She's fun to write - a strong young woman who, despite having magical powers, really does get the shit end of the stick most of the time. I'd like to think that I'd cope as well with the sort of stuff she goes through.

PT: Was she your original foray into character creation?

KO: No, no, no, no, no. I've been creating characters since grade school.

PT: Of a sexual and transforming nature?

KO: Mmm, on that score it's possible. I certainly can't recall any breast expansion characters I'd created prior to her but the notes for her were begun in late 1997 and early 1998, so that goes back a ways.

PT: Was she inspired by anyone or anything in particular?

KO: Well, I first encountered the BE scene in 1996 or thereabouts, and about the same time I first encountered John Barrett's artwork. Before then I didn't really recognize any particular kink in my own preferences, except perhaps that I liked women as tall or taller than myself. But the exposure to John's work especially led me to consider creating a character whose signature feature, as an erotic character, was lactation on a truly cartoony scale. That, plus the old term "milkmaid", was what got it started.

PT: And so, a legend was born.

KO: A very small, quiet, barely-sung-of legend.

PT: One can only hope that she - and your other creations will go on to gain the critical and financial success that they deserve within the community in the years ahead... which leads me to my next question... you've been faced with obstacles at almost every turn - not least, the loss of John Barrett as the artist initially behind Milkmaid. It was literally, years before you found a replacement. Just how did you persevere?

KO: Well, the subscribers who are still waiting for their copies won't believe this, but mainly it was my promise that the series would go forward. A significant number of people - forty or so - had put down money to support the Milkmaid project, and one of the reasons for the new webcomic is to see that their support and the various creators' work isn't wasted.

PT: I'm sure that the subscribers will be grateful to know that you've done something so useful with their contributions and I think that a great many people probably sitting on their hands agree.

KO: They'll be more grateful to see their books in the mail - when I can afford to do that, hopefully VERY SOON NOW. ^^;;;

PT: I'm sure that WLP isn't adverse to hosting banner/adverts of some description to expedite that?

KO: Oh, no, no, not at all! WLP has banner ad rates available at http://www.wlpcomics.com/adv.html

PT: Goodo.

KO: Also, Peter is the Wolf has signed up with a webcomics advertising collective, so hopefully we'll see some revenue come in from that eventually.

PT: It's good to know that WLP is adapting to new circumstances. Now moving on, I know you're not a big fan of spoilers for your stories, so I won't ask you for any... but can you give us any hints about the upcoming project you mentioned recently on this very blog?

KO: That was for the Milkmaid webcomic. Which just debuted this past Sunday. As for spoilers...

In Peter is the Wolf there's going to be a bit of fun with the Capture Squads trying and failing to catch Sarah, a major change in Peter's living arrangements, and a brief glimpse into Butch Cramer's life at home with her father Gus... at a weekly basis that'll all probably take til spring to play out...

Beginning next week Chichi-chan gets to play with her giant robot from back when she was an anime star in "Giant Robots, Giant Headaches"...

Those who read the old Milkmaid story outlines know this chapter introduces JuGGG's, who might just be bustier even than Milkmaid herself...

... and those who follow Chocolate Milkmaid really don't need spoilers to know what's going to happen THERE. }:-{D

PT: That is unfortunate but I'm sure those motivated will be sufficiently diligent to find it.

KO: I hope people are motivated - only one person's donated thus far in the PitW contest, and only one in the CM contest thus far. Unfortunately it involves checks in the mail, which people seem very reluctant to do.

PT: I think people are often worried about sending cheques with their real names. Especially if it can be traced back to something to do with porn.

KO: If you'll notice, PayPal isn't anonymous anymore, either. The only anonymous cash transfer is just that - actual cash. Everything else is tracked and regulated - in most cases heavily regulated.

PT: True enough, I think people just feel that doing things on the Internet insulate them from the real world. What could be further from the truth... but anyway, is there anything else you'd like to add?

KO: One thing, yes. Just because it's available on the Internet doesn't make it yours, or free. WLP's artists put a lot of labor into each page of each comic on the site. Please DON'T repost or redistribute it elsewhere... and if you can, please support WLP or the individual artists with your donations, purchases, and art commissions.

PT: Kris Overstreet, it's been enlightening, thanks for your time.

KO: Thank you, appreciate it.

Well, I've got a little treat for all of you too... It was suggested I widen the scope of the blog... so, here's a first - an interview with Lightfoot... here it is:

PT: First off Lightfoot, you've been running Stone of Adventure in one form or another for over six years now - what was it that made you start up SoA all those years ago?

LF: I was worried that my comics would be too tame sexually for many of the bigger sites like Wren, hooters.dk or the BEA. I had originally talked to Akiokid about having my stuff posted at the Mansion of Midnight Eyes, but that never happened.

I think Wolf conviced me to start a new site after I posted Pulse #1 to the BEA user gallery. At the time, free web space was very easy to find. I lasted almost a year on the first server. It was common then to put up a site on a free server, then if they deleted your site (for having nudity), you would then move to another free server. It was possible to last months,
or even a year or more before they noticed you.

PT: Perhaps ironic that only the BEA and SoA have survived the test of time... Anyway, six years is a long time for a "hobby" site to run - did you imagine you'd still be going now and that you'd be working on several different titles, as well as have a number of other artists on the site?

LF: I'm surprised I'm still around, I would have expected to only last a few years. I thought that I'd eventually move to doing just one comic of some kind at keenspace or something like that.

Having several different titles doesn't seem that strange. I originally "planned ahead" on a number of series. I planning out, and even listing stories and comics that never happened. It was a move only a novice would make. Even if I could have made all those comics, future plans for anything will change. The last few comics in all series are very different from what I expected previously.

With multiple authors, I feel out of place "being in charge". I'm probably best at being a follower, or a loner. I just let them do their own thing without getting involved in their work.

PT: Over the years, many contributors to the community have cut and run because they've perceived that people are not vocal enough in their praise. How do you feel the community has treated you over the years? Are there any particular acts of kindness or pieces of feedback that you'd care to recount?

LF: A person and their fans will never mix very well. A fan falsely giving praise on both things they like, and things they don't like will never be helpful to anyone. Even if a person managed to get the praise they thought they wanted, it still wouldn't be enough to convince them to do something they didn't want to do for themselves. How much praise is too much, or too little?

I don't think anyone is immune to praise, or lack of it. I don't think most people know how to react. Knowing what is the correct amount or type of feedback. You have to take what you get. Both feedback, and lack or feeback usually shape what a creator does. Things that get a good response are more likely to be repeated than something that does not.

Most fans will practially just ask for things. If you draw what they want too easily, they'll ask for three things next time. Any creator needs to have some kind of buffer or you'll be driven crazy.

Snoopy has always been good to us. He's been hosting the site now for several years. I suppose we're both a little quiet, I don't really even know that much about him, or what kind of stuff he likes exactly. The one time I contacted him to draw him a picture, he wanted Tifa popping out of a top (I did draw it if you remember it).

I remember one email a fan sent where he was commenting that my comics had less fan-service than usual, and he wrote this long, nice letter about it. The cool part was that he added links to specific words in his letter which linked to comic pages that displayed what he ment. The whole letter must have had 20-30 links. I still have the letter in my mailbox, but the links don't work anymore as I've changed the site since then.

PT: Well, I think all content creators crave the constructive feedback rather than bland praise or blunt criticism... For a moment, let's widen our attention... What do you think of the general art scene in the BE/big boob community at the moment and how do you think it's changed since the start of SOA?

LF: Most artists used to post in forums, or in Yahoo Groups. Now, DeviantART has taken over as an alternative to websites for most artists. There are more artists available (as it is easier to host your artwork), but posting artwork in such a public place isn't always a smart idea. I think it ends up discouraging artists when they get comments "from the
average person" who has something negative to say
about what they are choosing to draw.

Websites generally add some freedom for an artist, with most people visiting being of like-mind. DA can also seem very impersonal compared to a full website.

I think that fewer artists know each other. Most artists only communicate with their fans.

PT: Just how and when did you get into BE and when/why did you make your first foray into the world of BE art?

LF: I think Akiokid just added his gallery to the BEA, and there was some suggestion for fanart for his site. At least at the time, what I most needed was practice drawing. I started posting artwork to the BEA forum planning to try to have it posted in the Tifa gallery of artwork at the Mansion.

PT: Does being one of the most consistent, talented and prolific get you alot of attention from the ladies?

LF: Ah no. I know that there are a few female readers, but I'm not aware of any women finding me attractive based on my stuff.

PT: Heh, well - had to ask. Where do you get the inspiration for your comics?

LF: Video games, comics, old cartoons, anime. Everything is set in different enviroments, so it usually isn't needed to worry about similar items appearing in more than one comic.

PT: Possibly the most impressive thing about your art isyour sheer consistency, week >after week you hardlyever miss an update - how do you manage it?

LF: Most people have unrealistic goals for a schedule. Updating once a week isn't really all that much, but I like it because it allows me to work on other things as well, or I can use that time to do two pages instead.

The common wisdom for web comics is to update every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Many artists can manage that, but only for short periods of a few months. Then they become burnt out, and disappear for a month or two, return, then start the cycle over. They might produce more pages in the long-run, but I've always thought it's better to keep to a predictable schedule instead. If you produce more one week, that's fine.

I think that after the first year or two it gets easier. You have some idea how much or little time things will take. You know when you need to have a page past a certain point. I know that by Saturday, I should have a page at least pencilled in time for Wednesday night. By Monday, if it's not inked, I should put some extra energy into it.

PT: Can you tell us a little bit about the man behind the art?

LF: Caucasian, Sagittarius, single, 5' 9", about 170 lbs, 27 y.o. Quiet, clumsy, distracted. I'm a pretty introverted person. Both of my siblings where very assertive and tried to be "the leader" in everything. I think it became a habit to follow and let other people talk.

I don't have a lot of art traning. I took art classes for "portraits in pastel" when I was about 13. I also did some mail order stuff from Joe Kubert at about 18. I suspect I would benefit from more training, but I don't really have the time or money with the other things I'm doing to invest in something like that. I know that there are artists with little training who brag about it saying they don't need it. I also know there are professional-level trained artists who have the opinion that every artist should attempt higher training. I don't know what I would suggest to other people. Probably to ask someone else.

PT: I'm a cancer myself... Ok, how about some little teasers for upcoming comics?

LF: Lucy finally gets introduced in the next Pulse comic, robot legs and all. It'll focus more on the entire cast, instead of just Annie. It'll be a little like the 6th chapter in that it's mostly helping to transition or to start new things that may not be resolved until later comics.

The ninja girls try out a number of different jobs inthe next PeEVEed comic. Nani will fall in love withsomeone.

PT: I suppose the obvious final question has to be... Who is your favorite character?

LF: That might be a little hard to guess. When I created Pulse, Annie was designed to be what I would consider to be an ideal match for me. I don't know if that makes her my favorite or not. There's also parts of me in her, which seems weird when you think about it.

I think that each comic both has a character that I'm most attracted to, and the character who is the most fun to write about (although they aren't always different people).

I just assumed you'd all go and see them. Oh, Lunar Diaries - don't forget that chaps. Havoc has PROMISED me an update this week and Alpha Luna is still updating regularly... and lordy, my pay masters at the BEA and BESC are working overtime to provide content.

Before the story contest results - Addventure thread of the week:

Werewolf Meredith - a tale of werewolves, witches, love triangles and Jim.

Foreword:

The entries for the competition varied considerably in almost all aspects – style, length, quality, plot, characters, themes, perspective and breasts. We had writers varying from first timers to established authors to nigh legends.

Judging the contest was made very hard by the high quality of the majority of stories. Much mulling and re-reading was required to arrive at these results and it’s a great shame that there can only be three prizes. It should be noted that the intermediate rankings were possibly the hardest to place. That’s where most of the difficulty and mulling came.

In a way, you’re all winners. In another – more accurate – way, here are the final rankings, in ascending order.

16. flapjack – Windy City Story (DISQUALIFIED)

This wasn’t a bad story. In fact, it was rather good… sadly, ostensibly the only BE in it was the fact that the female character conceals she has large breasts until later on in the story and briefly. This despite the fact the rules of the contest making it VERY clear that BE had to be a main theme.

15. Tendrak – Strained Conclusions

Old school - in all the wrong ways. It was perhaps too much to hope that the days of breasts being described almost purely alphabetically had passed. Just a bit too slap dash and cliché but without any real hint of irony.

14. Sick Of Life – Sin In The Flesh

A rather disturbing read, which focuses extremely heavily on none too pleasant non-consensual sex and transformation. It’s also not a story – it’s just a rather long scene with no real plot, characterisation… At the end, it leaves one feeling somewhat dirty and doesn’t make for particularly erotic reading.

13. Alex Streuth – Fidelity

This story felt a great deal like it had been conceived primarily as a mind control story. It also feel rather contrived in that the male character chooses a woman who he has little interest in physically or mentally. The BE that occurs is late on and seems to be an afterthought for what amounts to textbook MC.

12. Varla – Office Romance

The main problem with Office Romance, is that it doesn’t stand alone. So one is left feeling as though you’ve walked in on the middle of a film. Naturally, this makes things rather less solid. This combined with some rather shallow characterisations – I don’t think I can imagine any woman realistically not being pissed as being used as a guinea pig without her explicit consent.

11. Derob Jacobs – Tits On A Plane

This story marks a sizable deviation in style for Derob… it’s robust in its form and characterisation but it lacks… for want of a better term, soul. It’s also marred by a lack of description of the BE.

10. gblock01 – Emotional Traumas

Illusions that become real… given out by a temporally displaced fellow who has his powers bestowed by some higher being to make two women bigger and bustier. The two main flaws are the somewhat improbable plot… and the somewhat unpolished style of writing.

9. Derob Jacobs – Tits On A Plane: The Movie

This was a rather more interesting proposition than Derob’s other story, in that it has a rather more esoteric narration style (someone pitching a movie based on the other story). It aptly mixes a rather satirical view of Hollywood with a generous helping of BE.

8. Xenodora – Mittens

Thieves, mages, catgirls and potions that induce BE and lactation… That pretty much sums up this entry. It’s made all the more enjoyable by some genuinely touching scenes between a few of the characters.

7. Superguyfeldman – Based On A True Story

Another playful piece. One should never tire of stories about women who love the idea of BE and this one makes good use of Mika’s own interests. It makes playful fun of the (many) clichés of the genre. It is a well constructed piece but the ending feels rather rushed.

6. Wren – Story Idea #2

What a wonderful little tale this was. It’s been a long time since Wren wrote anything… this story shows that he’s clearly lost none of his skill. The story just feels so mischievous, it effortless conveys an erotic energy that any BE fan would appreciate. If only there had been more of it…

5. Laelia - Synethesia

Some authors have a style that allows one to read something and think that’s it’s very much their style. So this story is very much a Laelia story, the mixture of pseudoscience and mind powers is executed with his normal skill. The characters all act appropriately, it’s all in all – a very solidly written story.

4. Quadhouse – Goddess’ Fun Shop

Eminently enjoyable, there’s just something very right about this story. It’s a prime example of a simple idea, executed very well. Girl gets pendant that makes her breasts larger when she dreams about them – breasts grow. The alteration of reality is done nicely and the story moves along at a good pace, some nice BE as well.

3. Blake Isaac Gordon – Ectoplasm Tales

This story starts as the general – guys try out stuff they shouldn’t on their wives type fair… It might seem that it’s all over before it’s begun… but Blake manages to turn the tables on the men and sexy fun ensues (inevitably). Some wonderful wacky transformation occurs.

2. Nobilis - The Nefarious Plot Of Professor Bolster

Stories told from a female perspective aren’t that uncommon… ones that do it well are quite infrequent but both of those AND adds in a rather unusual early 20th century setting and you’ve already got an interesting mix. The story sits together very well and progresses in a realistic manner, not just that but its got more than enough BE. A unique and memorable story to be sure.

1. Bill Pratt – Full Bodied Shampoo

Old school – in all the right ways. Suitably epic and just all around good fun. Bill did win The Overflowing Bra contest… but to be honest, should he keep writing stories of this calibre, he’s going to keep on winning them. There is an originality and energy that infuses the story from start to finish. In many ways, it was reminiscent of reading a story by Fret Pearson – and that is a compliment of the highest magnitude.

Anyway, that concludes the results for the 1st BESC story contest. Thank you to all the contestants – you made it extremely hard to judge by contributing such generally excellent stories. All judgements are final – this listing will not be changed, so please don’t beg for reconsiderations. Anyone wanting more detailed feedback can e-mail me about it.

All authors should be contacted shortly regarding their prizes and/or payment.

Pretty slow week...

There's this usual update at Stone Of Adventure, WLP... Litch updated...

Uh, just two weeks left for the story contest.

But if you like - here is my essay on female transformation - as has been pointed out, more observation than analysis but I'll work on it more later... maybe:

Female transformative fetishes – that is fetishes pertaining to
changes of the female body (and the somewhat different but related,
mental transformation) – include a huge variety of different fetish
interests: everything from simple enhancement of existing body parts,
to lycanthropy, to size changing, all the way to changing a human to
an inanimate objects. So transformation, in itself engenders and
encompasses a wide spectrum of sub-fetishes which exist within a
strange, tangled and complex web of involvement.

Most transformative fetishes seem to almost inevitably split between
benign and malign in occurrence and/or usage. That is to say, that the
woman is invariably empowered or enslaved by her transformation.
Equally subsequent to an empowering transformation she can be
magnanimous or misanthropic. This generally represents within the
author a love or fear of women and a desire for a submissive or
dominant role in the women subject to transformation. Although
inevitably, these are not often clear cut but one can see general
trends in certain areas. For example mind control - is almost entirely
misogynistic whereas the opposite is true of growth/ giantess stories.

On that theme, perhaps the most commonly known fetishes are those
pertaining to size change – these will almost certainly be familiar to
anyone versed in popular culture as they are staples of TV and film.
Shrinking women and giantesses are among the largest online fetish
groups and it seems likely that this is directly related to the fact
that they are so often shown in mainstream media that they are such
common fetishes. Shrinking and growth do in themselves however
represent diametric opposites in terms of situation, in obvious ways.
While growth and giantess fetishes, generally put men at the mercy of
women – sometimes in particularly violent ways – the opposite is
generally true of shrunken women.

The two are essentially two sides of the same coin. Whereas GTS
stories will generally see smaller, weaker girls elevated – literally
– in status and power, SW stories will often do the exact opposite,
putting more powerful girls in a situation where they are ever
shrinking. The GTS punishes whereas the SW is punished and so on. This
is an obvious dichotomy which is paralleled in many transformation
fetishes and can be seen to represent the inherent power play aspect
that comes into play in almost all fantasy scenarios.

Closely related to the GTS story we have the similar but disparate
branch of Amazons and female muscle growth. Of all the TF fetishes,
this one is one of the few that ever strays away from empowerment of
women and is one of the more realistic fetishes (it is entirely
possible for a woman to increase her musculature after all). Here
again we see the weaker, smaller or less popular girl gifted with the
power to right wrongs – and in some cases actively seek vengeance (as
with violent GTSs). This is very much an empowerment related desire
and unlike the GTS/SW situation there is no real equivalent with women
being deprived of power (except possibly by being usurped by an even
more powerful woman). Amazons and FMG hence stand as one of the few
transformative fetishes where women can only be empowered and never
objectified.

By comparison breast enlargement is very ambiguous. Breast expansion
can of course occur by itself but it is common for it to be paired
with – mind control, GTS, Amazon, PE, bimbofication and various
anthromorphic transformations – these tend to compliment themes either
of sexual transformation or objectification. Hence, BE can fall into
either an empowering or disempowering experience for the woman.
Needless to say the reaction is critical, if the woman becomes a
bimbo, then she is often at will of men, whereas if she is in a
situation where she finds her condition is transmittable or she –
rather than a third party – is responsible for the growth, the story
tends to be more… innocent in its sexuality. However, it is not
uncommon for women in BE to become enslaved by their breasts or by a
man – often one who she has humiliated. Which is what allows for the
ambiguity, the sexual power of the breasts can either enslave or
empower. Themes such as revenge are not uncommon either and hence, the
very act of BE can be degrading and a means to shame a character –
conversely though one can see BE as a method of. Hence while both
extremes are represented, most stories inevitably gravitate toward the
centre ground but with a slight bias toward disempowerment – almost
inevitable given the overwhelmingly male nature of the community.

Anthromorphic alteration – most commonly seen in the form of
lycanthropy but extending to the reach almost every conceivable
creature (both real and fictious) anthromorphic alteration is
inevitably linked to the "furry" community. As always there is the
dichotomy between empowerment and humiliation in the transformation
but here the element is complicated by the fact that popular mythology
has vilified lycanthropes for centuries.

The dichotomic nature of female transformation is likely a reflection
on the fact that sex in general falls into the patterns of dominance
and submission. It would be logical to assume that this pattern
extends to this fetish group but it's a misconception to think that a
preference for the opposite role. Indeed, the fetish can often be
extremely compartmentalised by the individual – to the point where it
has no perceivable effect on their expectations of real world scenarios.

Lovely sunny Shrove Tuesday here (Mardi Gras outside the British Empire) and let's see what goodies we have today... well, we've got the weekly updates of Stellar and Chocolate Milkmaid over at WLP and of course thanks to Kris, Manic and Evhor for that.

Let's see... I've included a brief list of links that - to the extent of my limited awareness - comprise the main groups covering BE/FMG/TF. It goes without saying that the forums of The Process, Amaz0ns, BEA and TOB are all gold mines for content.

I'd say that WLP and Stone Of Adventure both offer your best chance for regular weekly updates and both of them are home to superfantastic comics. Stellar, Chocolate Milkmaid, Peter is the Wolf and (currently) PeEVEed are all simply fantastic not just in terms of art but their writing and humour as well.

Litch Art - home of the Litch. He's not quite so regular - maybe once every couple of weeks but that boy goes crazy. Comics, requests and morphs.

These are certainly stalwart pillars of the community and we should all be thankful that such talented contributors provide their work to us for free!

Gone Wild is from the artist (Mammabliss) behind BiggerBiggerBigger I'm aware that the style of art won't be to everyone's liking but then you won't know if you don't try.

I think I'll shamelessly plug this blog to some other people... get the word out and so on. Any suggestions and so on as to content and stuff, great.

Also - I should add that I am the Editor of the BE Story Club. Today I realised something... Female Transformation is a fetish that has little recognition.

Transformation is a wide fetish - ranging widely from the erotic, to the abstract, to the strange and weird. Female Transformation though, as I understand it, is about the empowerment of women. Female Transformation here shall be defined as women growing - be it bigger, sexier, more powerful... or maybe a tail or ears or a different skin colour etc.

Anyway - this blog has one singular purpose, to ensure that any fan of female transformation can find everything they might want to... Uh, I'll make sure they can as soon as I can.
